Hey there gals and guys,
I am new to this forum and it seems it has been inactive for a while, but I'm gonna chuck this fairly common question like a stone throw in the dark anyway hoping it'll hit the light switch on ;D.
What GNC/Nepalese programs/events are planned for the rest of the year and when are they scheduled for?
I attended the 2008 ANZAC parade very recently and i must say i felt a great sense of pride and joy being of Nepalese Gurkhali descent. I also enjoyed the fun filled luncheon at the Yak and Yeti afterwards and got to meet several interesting people from the GNC community, including a friend from GBBS back home. Anyways, it was a great day and i am glad that I attended, so I am really looking forward to the next event.
So..anyone..please be kind enough to let me know.
Cheers! and yes, good night...I hope i'll reach work on time tomorrow.
Rickesh

Welcome Rickesh bhai, it was indeed a fun and proud moments for us all to have paraded in the ANZAC day. And it was nice moment to have met you there with your family.
As for GNC programmes for the year, we gonna have winter GNC soccer league very soon. We just finished the GNC soccer cup 2008 and it was a grand success. You can check photos in the GNC soccer section of this forum. And we have been celebrating Dashain Cultural program regularly every year in around october. For dates and events, please check out this website time to time for more information.

Sounds like it'll be an interesting day. I must say, I never paid much attention to Social Studies in school, so this day should give me the opportunity to learn more about the Kirat customs. And considering I live in Earlwood, i just need to stroll down the street ...not literally ;D ... and what better reason do I need to come devour some delicious nepali khana...mmmmmm (drools)
I guess (wipes the drooling saliva off the chin) I will see you dais there on Sunday!
Cheers!

Hello Kirant Bandhus and other Bandhus,
I am extremely excited about this Ubhauli 2008. A group of a number of Kirant enthus plus non-kirant bandhus have been doing some CHANDI practice for the past few days, which will be showcased on the day which is just under 36 hours away.
A big 'thank you' to nrai lead team for putting in so much time and effort towards organising this event to celebrate this festival which does not just belong to the KIRANTS but is a part of Nepalese heritage.
It will most certainly be a great day. Look forward to seeing you all there...
